Sign Up To Be A Volunteer!
If you would like to serve your community in a most enjoyable and rewarding way, while at the same time supporting your local children’s hospital, sign up to be a volunteer at the Palo Alto Auxiliary. Whatever your skill level, we have a job for you.
The Palo Alto Auxiliary serves two very important missions:
- To promote, foster and maintain the welfare of children by raising funds for uncompensated care at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, and
- To manage and operate the Allied Arts Guild Café in Menlo Park, CA.
Active volunteers work at the Restaurant approximately 3 to 4 hours per week, serving in one of the following three capacities:
- AM cooks who prepare the food for luncheon service
- PM cooks who dish out and attractively plate the food
- Dining room workers who serve and host the guests
If you are not skilled in any one of the above three capacities, do not worry. We train! And, there are other Volunteer assignments, as well as luncheon service.
In addition to food preparation and serving, the Auxiliary offers a wide range of other jobs that are fun, challenging and rewarding. A vast array of committees, such as menu planning, operations, membership, cookbook marketing & sales, public relations, as well as production of recipe cards and food products, provide our members with a host of enjoyable and selective opportunities. In addition, other jobs such as decorating, floral arranging, modeling, Easter Basket filling, photo taking, mailing assignments and special event duties, as well as a whole host of administrative jobs, are available.
Whatever your role, you will love the camaraderie of this organization. Your greatest reward will come at the Annual Luncheon when all members meet to celebrate another successful year. You will feel a sense of pride and self-fulfillment when we donate our profits to the Hospital and hear about all the amazing work they do.
Don’t wait! Sign up now!
