The Allied Arts Guild's reputation as a beautiful and historic California showplace is equaled by its philanthropic purpose: the support of chronically ill and physically challenged children at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.

The Merners, the founders of Allied Arts Guild, retired from active operation of the Allied Arts Guild in 1935 and leased the Guild to the then "Senior Auxiliary of the Children's Convalescent Home." In 1946, Allied Arts Guild Associates, Inc., bought the property and continued to run it for the benefit of the Home. In 1951, the Allied Arts Auxiliary acquired ownership of the Guild, and continues to manage the property today. Allied Arts Auxiliary volunteers also staff the Guild's Artisan Shop, known for its exquisite handmade art pieces and lovely vintage items.
