Friends of Allied Arts is a subcommittee of the Allied Arts Auxiliary dedicated to raising funds for the upkeep and enhancement of the gardens of the Allied Arts Guild, recruiting garden volunteers, and raising community awareness of the property by bringing new visitors to the complex.
Friends publishes two newsletters each year; in the spring and in the fall. The newsletter includes articles regarding the gardens, upcoming events on the property as well as new shops. It is mailed to members of the seven hospital auxiliaries in the Bay Area who support the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, to people who have attended FAA events, and to other interested individuals and organizations in the community.
Events Hosted by Friends of Allied Arts
Pumpkin Days are held at Halloween. Pictures are taken of the costumed children near the barn where volunteers have built a backdrop of pumpkins and hay. Each child is asked to bring a small gift to be distributed to the young patients at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
The Children’s Holiday Party is held the first Sunday in December at the Allied Arts Guild Café. The party includes lunch, holiday crafts, entertainment, and a visit with Santa. The entertainment is often a puppet or magic show. Children are accompanied by their parents, grandparents and friends.
Other special events such as wreath workshops, painting classes, flower arranging demonstrations, parties, teas, fashion shows, art shows, trunk shows, and other fundraisers are held at Allied Arts Guild throughout the year.
